What is it like working for a Sales And Marketing?
Anyone here have a glimpse of what it's like to work for a company selling and marketing? Is it difficult to manage multiple accounts? Are they legitimate in general? I wonder if this a good place for me to start to gain experience in management, they provide the jobs they announce. Thank you advance.
Instead of a property sale, I would recommend working for an organization of sales (a sales team within a company offering a product or service, such as software). As a seller, I can tell you that the sale is a fantastic area, if you work for the good company. A good company that you pay very well, giving you the flexibility to manage your accounts and understand that not everything is under your control. Bad company do pay well, lying, and the micromanagement that you treat as a drone (there is no way to tell what a company will, unless you do your homework talking to company employees in advance, or who have been there for a while). Sale of a job where you usually change companies often as products change and sometimes you try a few companies before finding the right person for you. Regarding the amount of accounts, real answer is it depends. If you sell a complex product, you will only need a few large accounts. If you are organized and work hard and sell a product, you can manage the accounts of several tens or more. Regardless, the key is organization (keeping a good schedule, monitoring of commitments), prioritization (knowing where to spend your time and concentrate on that, since it is not time for everything) and commitment (It may be one and up-and down-demanding work). Is selling a way of moving into management? Sure. The success of sales people working well with people are often given many opportunities to move up the chain. The bottom line is selling is an excellent opportunity to make an extraordinary amount of money, whether or not you're in management. Good luck!
